About my services
I offer services to raise awareness of Asperger's Syndrome among the wider community and provide support for individuals with the condition together their families and carers.
The main objective of my advocacy work in terms of raising awareness is to promote the idea that Asperger's Syndrome is a gift, depending upon how one views it, rather than a disability, and that individuals diagnosed with the condition are not cursed or broken. With effective understanding people with Asperger’s Syndrome can make significant contributions to society in many different ways as well as leading fulfilling lives. Too often, through general lack of understanding, the potential of people with Asperger's Syndrome goes unfulfilled. My ultimate aim in raising awareness of Asperger's Syndrome is to break myths and misconceptions relating to the condition, as well as take away any 'fear of the unknown' mentality the term Asperger's Syndrome can sometimes present. To enable this, my training packages are both practical and strength-focused in relation to Asperger's Syndrome.
As an individual diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome who has experienced such frustrations, my main objective is to help other people with Asperger's Syndrome avoid going through some of the difficulties that the likes of myself and other adults diagnosed late in life have been through. To achieve this, I can offer a range of services from public speaking to mentoring that can be tailored to individual needs. I am based in Sunderland, but I work UK-wide and internationally.
